Stress Relief is Good for Health

Constant stress is not healthy for us, and WebMD warns that constant stress can turn into “distress — a negative stress reaction. Distress can lead to physical symptoms including headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and problems sleeping. Research suggests that stress also can bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases.”

Research has shown that massage therapy can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, relax your muscles and increase the production of endorphins, those all natural chemicals that help you “feel good”. Serotonin and dopamine are also released as a result of massage, and that created a feeling of relaxation and calm that makes stress much easier to overcome.
